- Thermal regime, lithospheric structure, numerical modelling, lithosphere dynamics, continental margins.
- Present interest: Large-scale tectonophysics. Integrated studies of crust and upper mantle structure combining geopotential fields, thermal regime, mineral physics and geochemistry, and elastic properties.

- Advisor of 12 PhD Thesis and 7 Post-Doc researchers, and professor in several master courses of geophysics focussed on lithospheric processes.
