About myself:
Graduated from Clausthal University of Technology, Professor of Geophysics at Freie Universität Berlin and since 2003 Professor of Geophysics and Geoinformation at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel; retired in 2014; visiting professor at the universities of Concepción (Chile) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). Guest residencies at Stanford University, USGS (USA) and Geoscience Australia (Canberra, Australia).

Main areas of research:
Integration of Geophysics and Geology; Mathematical Geology and Potential field theory; visualization and geoinformation. Geophysical fieldwork in the Andes, Alps and in the virtual space.

Current activities and projects
Member of the Advisory Board of the “Leibniz-Institute for Applied Geophysics”, Hannover
Integrated 3D modeling of the gravity and temperature field to understand rheology and deformation of the Alps and their foreland basins - INTEGRATE (collaborative project, GFZ & CAU)
