Banaras Hindu University, founded on February 4, 1916, is a central public research university in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is one of Asia’s largest residential universities, enrolling over thirty thousand students, many living on campus. The main urban campus spans about one thousand three hundred acres, with a south campus of roughly two thousand seven hundred acres devoted to agriculture and research. BHU comprises six institutes, fourteen faculties, and about one hundred forty departments, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across humanities, sciences, engineering, medicine, law, arts, and more, fostering research, culture, and community service
